The problem with COWPump going away when a Visualization exits has been fixed (in VisInterface). It should work OK now. On a side note, the demo Vis included with COWPump goes down OK, but if you try to re-run it, it doesn't come back up. I can reproduce the problem in WinAMP, so it's a problem with the Vis. I'm looking for another Vis to use as a demo, as soon as I find one that's better, I'll post a new release.
I've combined the dnetc.log and a very basic plug-in DLL to the basic install. This way, the first time you run COWPump, you can immediately start running. I've been testing lots of plug-ins, and have various results (most run, fair number of full-screen GL ones crash on exit but run OK until then, and a couple don't work at all). I will continue to look at figuring out why some don't run (oddly enough, some of them don't run under WinAmp...) If you find any problems, specifically Plug-ins that don't work, please let me know the plug-in name and the author I've also added a bug list, if you run into a problem check there first.
Version 1.0 is available on the download page. VisInterface is also available here (includes full source plus to examples with full source). I've also put up a simple AVS that shows basic waveforms.
The first version of the web page is up and available. COWPump is up and running, I'm now just working on the user interface a bit. I will also be releasing VisInterface, which is a set of classes that lets you use and render against WinAmp's Visualization Plug-in's (so ANY application and can pump any type of data against a plug in to visualize that data). The first version of COWPump should be up this week VisInterface will follow shortly. To ask questions or report problems, please visit our message board
